Committed to the Community
Deb Whitfield for Lawrence Common Council At-Large
This is the word that best describes Deborah Whitfield.
Deborah has made the City of Lawrence her home for over twenty years. She and her late husband raised their two children in Lawrence and both graduated from schools in the township.
For more than twenty years, she devoted her career to developing strong leadership in the healthcare industry in Indianapolis. As the Diversity Director, she’s worked to implement programs that bring understanding and inclusivity – these efforts are prime examples of her passion to spread awareness.

I’m fighting for safety on our streets, so our children can grow up in peaceful neighborhoods and develop into productive and contributing members of society.
I’ll work closely with our city’s leadership to support our teachers and schools, so our children get the education they deserve.
Most importantly, commitment is what I’ll bring to the community. A listening ear, a strategic thinker and problem solver, a neighbor on the front line working with and for our Lawrence Community. That’s my unbreakable promise to you.
